It's Really in the Thought

The real crisis is not in these events which are confronting us, like wars and crime and drugs and economic chaos and pollution, it's really the thought which is making it - all the time. Each person can do something about that thought because he's in it.

It's really in the thought

Five years ago, I had a real eureka moment when I suddenly grasped a new understanding of thought and how the mind works while viewing a TedX talk by Michael Neill.

I know some of you are familiar with this story because I've written and talked about it numerous times.

However, as much as I've talked about and written about it through the seven experts I've interviewed on understanding how the mind works, I'm pretty sure that very few people have experienced the same breakthrough in understanding that I did.

How do I know?

Because nobody has shared with me that they experienced a sudden and dramatic quieting of their mind, nobody has told me that they seem to be able to listen in a whole new way.

Nobody has said to me that they suddenly became so much more creative that their friends and colleagues were contacting them to ask what happened?

I've never written about this quote from David Bohm specifically before, so I selected it as the focus topic for this newsletter in light of recent world events.

"The real crisis is not in these events which are confronting us, like wars and crime and drugs and economic chaos and pollution, it's really the thought which is making it - all the time. Each person can do something about that thought because he's in it."

Join the Open Workshop on Wednesday, March 2, 2022

The topic for this month's Space Beyond Boundaries workshop is the mind.

In light of recent world events, I immediately thought of this quote and the design I created for it two years ago.

If you find this quote from David Bohm intriguing and would like to explore how it might help you think differently about world events today in a way that could have an impact, I'd like to invite you to join me.

The workshop is on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 5 pm CET.

During this workshop, you'll learn:

  • A new understanding of how the mind works from the inside out that's based on the principles of mind, consciousness, and thought.
  • A deeper understanding of how David Bohm believed our thought can influence our collective lives and world.
  • How we can each start to do something about that thought.

I am also opening this workshop up to the general public as a free event.

If you can't make the scheduled date and time, signup and you'll receive a link to the video recording after the event.

I hope to see you there!

— Bill

Everything depends on thought - if thought goes wrong, we're going to do everything wrong. But we are so used to taking it for granted that we don't pay any attention to it.
